This DIY has been a few months in the making and finally today I can finally reveal to you all my little feathered baby. So, what do you get when you cross a lamb skin, with a Juju hat, with Morrocan blanket?

Happy Friday sweet friends. Thank you for yesterday's moral support. Thanks to all of you the blue urn doesn't seem so terrible anymore (there are worse problems, I know!). This is why blogging is so good- it's like therapy! Ok, so I have some cute things that have been on my mind lately. Let's please start with this Multiple Candleholder|| in love with it. And guess where it's from? Target! Yes, another one of Nate Berkus'
Life is a compromise right? Life has a way of constantly reminding us that we have no control over everything. And in these situations where things don't turn out how we envision them we must compromise and make the best out of a not so ideal situation. The compromise I'm alluding to today has to do when my husband arrived home with this-
Loving this print! Grid, windowpane, however you want to call it I'm just adoring it. And the added elegance of it being in black and white or navy and white just makes it such a crisp print. I scoured the web for some grid options for you so you can stay on trend. And here are some cute fashionistas wearing their version-
So excited to have the ninth edition of the "We love" series. Here was the last post in the series in case you missed it. To refresh your memory Sam from The Peak of Tres Chic and I
will be gathering inspiration under a certain theme a
couple of times a month and sharing it with you. Sam will guest post here in my blog and I will post at Sam's. I guess you could say we are swapping for the day. This time around its all about Stripes!!
I adore a good coffee table book, especially if it's one on interiors. I wanted to share with you this fabulous book I have been enjoying all weekend. Thanks to Vendome Press I received this advance copy of Beyond Chic where Ivan Terestchenko captures the real essence of the homes of some of fashion's greatest designers. You know what their clothes looks like and what their general style is, but what do their homes look like? Oh, yes, we are talking about Coco Chanel's Paris flat, Pucci's pallazo in Florence, and even Yves Saint Laurent's Paris duplex. Other amazing designer's homes included are- Missoni, Nicole Farhi, Reed Krakoff, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Loulou de La Falaise, and Georgio Armani among many others. It's so enjoyable to be a fly in the wall in these fabulous homes.
Happy Friday my loves! This was a good and productive week- I hope yours was too. I just wanted to share with you this lovely gallery wall in Jen's office. It's black, white, and gold- what is not to love? If you are a blogger you know her prints well, but if you are not a blogger (and I have many readers who aren't!) you may need an intro to her beautiful prints. These are some of my faves-
All I want is to wear black, and sweaters, and have festive invitations to attend that would require me needing that amazing, sparkly dress! Oh and with this cooler weather I would love to wear jeans and these cute owl flats....please.....I can't take the 104 F temperatures ANYMORE!!! I'm thankful that seasons exist because at this point I'm feeling the pendulum effect...after all the light and airy pieces I have been wearing all summer, I just want to wear dark colors and wear my smart blazers. You?? Ok, here is the rundown on these-
I have a DIY waiting to be put together because I need some supplies from Ikea. Since its a bit far I really plan my visits there and these are the four things I'm currently dreaming about from Ikea. Aren't these so cool? I would be so happy to come back home with any one of these (or all four?!) Here they are in action-

Do you know about Barmoires? You guessed it- a bar within an armoire. Apparently they are a 'thing' as Jessica was the one who introduced me to the term when I asked for her opinion on paint colors. I have known the concept all my life because my parents always had their bar in an antique armoire, but I'm loving this new-to-me term 'Barmoire'. Sounds exciting right?
I really love a discreet bar too....so this idea is ideal. I searched high and low for some good eye candy of barmoires so you can picture the potential but I came out empty handed. The images were either too small or not exciting aesthetically for me to post. So I guess, I have a heavy burden to produce the world's best barmoire ever! So, here is the story- but please don't panic when you see the photos. You know I'm all for giving you beautiful photos to look at and rarely do you see something ugly around here....but here it is-
This is one of my favorite summer dessert recipes. It's easy, fresh, and pretty to look at. The best part is the homemade whipped cream and of course the friends you share it with. I also tried an amazing roasted mushroom recipe this weekend. You need to try it...so fabulous and so divine. It's going to become my go-to veggie side-dish from here through December, I can just tell. But, back to the strawberry cake
So happy it's Friday. Yeay! It's been busy around here (and this is only the beginning!) and am just so glad the weekend is here to hopefully relax a bit. Any fun plans? My weekend will entail- hosting dinner for lovely friends, a soccer game (at 8:30 am on a saturday...whaaaat?? shouldn't this be illegal?), playdate 1, playdate 2, and playdate 3 (Little Miss A. is a social butterfly this one), family lunch, and hopefully I can sneak in a nap and a DIY here and there.
|| I also wanted to let you know I was in House Beautiful's Top Five Guest posts of the week with my Magical Screens post (see here) !! This is my second time so I'm so thrilled and honored (my first post was about recreating a chic office look ( see here).
Welcome, welcome!! I'm so happy to have you all here today because I'm so, so excited about all the cute finds. So yeay!...Let's start with that pink garden hose. I first spotted it via Just a Girl and her Little Dog. So good right? It comes in gold and an assortment of other fabulous colors as well. It would make such a unique house warming present to that friend that has it all. I guarantee they won't have this hose!
The lacquered walls, the colors, the drama...I was thrilled to see Miles Redd's latest project in Southampton. If you are a follower of the blog you know that Miles Redd is probably my favorite interior designer ever. I love gathering all of this fabulous inspiration. The bathroom cabinets are divine, the art in the kitchen is unexpected, the treatment of the trim add interest, and the colorful floors are so much fun...but really the entrance hall is what stole my heart away. This home belongs to OscarPRGirl, Erika Bearman, the voice behind all of Oscar de la Renta's social media. So, its kind of exciting to see her aesthetic.
So excited to have the eighth edition of the "We love" series. Here was the last post in the series in case you missed it. To refresh your memory Sam from The Peak of Tres Chic and I

couple of times a month and sharing it with you. Sam will guest post here in my blog and I will post at Sam's. I guess you could say we are swapping for the day. This time around its all about Earth tones!!
My husband ADORES a flan. It's his favorite dessert. And can I confess to you I had never made him one? My mom and mother-in-law would make him one every once in a while as a treat. So I let them be the ones to pamper him. I would make him other desserts that he loves, like all sorts of chocolate cakes, lemon cakes, ice cream cakes, and even almond cakes, just because I really enjoy making these and I was really scared about making a flan. Not sure why, let's just call it 'a flan baking prejudice'. Until, my friend made my husband the most amazing flan ever as a birthday gift. I was delighted! She insisted on how simple it was and she even gave me her secret recipe, which I just had to share with you all. We can probably attribute its yumminess to the fact that it has two cans of condensed milk! Yup, you read right, two. Here it is-
Just a few styled corners that remind me of fall. Its still so hot here in Dallas and I all can think about is sweater weather and curling up in a cozy blanket like this. I love these styled corners with the warm gold and earthy tones (for more styling ideas visit The Zhush's lookbook here) Any big plans for the weekend? I kind of wish I were in NY for Fashion Week, everyone seems to be having a ball. Here are a few links for you:
So excited to welcome Brendan from Blog About Design (BAD) to guest post today. He has quite the eye and always features some amazing interiors, and highlights fabulous fashion finds and boy am I loving everything here today- especially those marble tables!! I die! Here he is:
Yellow and burgundy- an unlikely combination...or is it a likely one? The inspiration for this post began with the dropdead burgundy skirt, Oh my! If you knew me in real life you would know this skirt is SO ME! Classic, but with an added twist...love the color, the cut, love it all. Ok the booties are a pretty close second. And I have to say that painting really has fabulous colors. And of course I'm really digging the tote bag with the sort of dipped in gold quality, similar to the edgy earrings. And the more sophisticated take on the friendship bracelet is kind of cute, I have to say.
I hope you are rested rennovated from the long weekend. So, today I want to talk about screens- magical, elegant, luxurious, and oh so chic. They can serve as headboards, hide problem areas, add layers of luxury, divide spaces, create dramatic entrances.....Old school? I think they are making a comeback. I grew up with one in our living room, an Asian one, so you can say that I have a special place in my heart for them. Here are some in action-
Wishing you all a happy, fun, and safe Labor Day as we pay tribute to all the workers who make this country stronger and more and more prosperous each day. Are you planning to barbeque? watch football? lay around by the pool? go on a picnic? host friends? We don't have much going on because my husband has to work, but hamburgers are definitely on the schedule for dinner. Which reminds me... I did buy a couple of prints this weekend because it seems I'm in a print buying mode. What do you think of this one? Just love that burger.......
